No, in all seriousness I don't fully understand the feed market. What I do know is that there is a lot of uncertainty. The two largest factors appear to be soybean and corn prices on the market. With both of them in high demand for ethanol and other uses, it puts anyone with livestock in a headlock. Not to mention the weather has kept the supply down lately. Tons (understatement) of corn and soybean was damaged by weather last year. The corn my farm produced last year was disgustingly molded with moisture contents in the 20 percents. So the demand for feed ingredients is up, and the supply is down at the same time.

Contracting feed is a must at this point. There are specific times of the year that are best to contract. There are times that are terrible to contract. The best thing we can hope for is an awesome crop this year...
