Chinese Ringnecks are typically found in the midwest. But there are many different types of "crosses". Local pheasant farmers tend to have their own breeding stock and the genetics vary. I have read up on the one type called the Manchurian, which is suppose to have done well in the wild. If you go to Kansas they have a smaller bird with a little more blue colors on the back. Some people call these "blue backs" also known as Kansas pheasants.

Where can I get some of those black pheasants, I would also like to get the ones that don't have a white ring around their neck. Would it be ok to mix the dif. types in the same pen if they are the same age?

The black birds are called Melanistic Mutants. There are several varieties of "ringless" pheasatns, but the most commin is the Afghan Whitewing. I hear MacFarlane's sells them.

There should not be an issue with raising them together, assuming they have enough room.
